Sasami is the 2nd princess of Jurai royal family. She left her home by her sister's space ship and came to Earth. Being young and all, she was easily adopted to Earth unlike her elder sister. Her feelings towards Tenchi is a straight answer of "I like him a lot", and she also got along very well with Ryo-oh-ki.
